Detailed Topographic Data
Detailed project mapping (2- and 4-foot contour interval data) includes all elements that appear on project maps as well as FEMA floodplain and base flood elevation data. Typical features captured are bridges, canals, culverts, contours and spot elevations, digital terrain model (DTM), lakes, rivers, railroads, structures, street detail and survey control data. Every mapping project does not necessarily capture each of these features. The data available will vary from project to project. Follow these directions for purchasing the data.
These maps are designed to assist in determining if a particular piece of property is located in a 100-year floodplain as designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The map, however, is not an official document that may be used for floodplain determination. The Flood Control District provides information on Special Flood Hazard Areas (commonly known as 100-year floodplains, or areas with a one-percent (1%) or greater chance of flooding in any given year). To obtain this information in written form, please fill out the Request for Special Flood Hazard Area Information Form.
