Click on
button, then click on the map, but do not release. Move mouse to a new location and release.
The map will re-center and zoom in on that location.
Clicking
button will redraw the map at its previous view.
ZOOM TO COUNTY
Clicking
button will redraw the map to Maricopa County's boundary.
PAN
Click on
the button, then click on the map, but do not release. Move mouse to a new location and
release. The map will redraw to the new location.
MEASURE
Click on
button, then click on the map. A message box will appear listing distances from the points
picked. Right click or ESC to cancel.
PRINT
Clicking
button will print the current map display.
COPY MAP TO CLIPBOARD
Clicking button will place
the map on the clipboard. You can then paste the map from the clipboard into some other document
(Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
SELECT
Click on the Select tool
(the arrow button) in the toolbar and move the mouse pointer back onto the map. Move the pointer
tip across the center of any closed or restricted road and a pop-up box will appear containing a
description of the closure or restriction.
TIP: The tip of the mouse pointer arrow should be placed at the center of the
closed or restricted road.
REPORT
Clicking button will open a window
displaying information for all of the roads that are currently closed.
Clicking
button will open a dialog box for entering your address. Enter address and click on the
"Zoom To" button. The map will redraw around the address entered. Newer home
addresses might not be available in the latest street network. In these situations, use the
zoom to "Street Intersection" button. Then use the "pan" button to scroll
around to pinpoint a location.
Clicking
button will open a dialog box for entering two streets that intersect. Follow the screen prompts
to find two intersecting streets. When found, click on the "Zoom To" button and the map
will redraw around the streets intersection point.
RIGHT CLICK OPTIONS
When the mouse is in the map area,
right click and a menu will appear. There are several options which you can choose from. Some of the
options are already available as buttons along the top left above the map.
Distance Allows you to measure distances on the map. Selection Select and Clear (deselects all features currently selected). Zoom You can zoom by: Extent, In, Out, Pan, Previous, Scale (enter a scale at which to display
the map), Selected (zooms to selected features) and Width. Bookmarks Add and delete. If you add a bookmark, you will be prompted for a name for that
bookmark. That bookmark will then be available the next time you right click and go to bookmarks.
Select any named bookmark and the map will zoom to the location associated with the bookmark. Copy Map to Clipboard Clicking on this option will place the map on the clipboard. You can then
paste the map from the clipboard into some other document (Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Reload Reloads the entire map at the full extent. Preferences This option can be used to set scrolling coordinates. After clicking on this option
a dialog box will appear. In the "Status Bar" area of the dialog box, click on the box next to
"Display mouse position". If the feature has a check mark in the box, then scrolling coordinates
are enabled. If there is no check mark in the box, then scrolling coordinates are disabled. If enabled,
then you can select whether to display the coordinates as "Latitude, Longitude" or
"Mapping Coordinate System" from the dropdown list under "Units". If you select
"Mapping Coordinate System", the coordinates are Stateplane NAD83. The coordinates will
display in the lower left of the map frame after clicking "OK". Help Provides in-depth help on interacting with the map.
