Description: The Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District) and Town of Wickenburg (Town) will host a public meeting to introduce the Wickenburg Area Drainage Master Study/Plan (ADMS/P) flood control project. Development, infrastructure, new rainfall data, and other natural changes in this area may have caused the drainage to change, thus requiring an update to the original ADMS completed in 1992 that identified area flooding hazards. The District is updating the ADMS to identify known and potential flooding and erosion hazards in the Wickenburg Area. By completion of the study, property owners will have a better understanding of flood and erosion hazards in the area. The results will be used to help the District and Town make more informed decisions on future land development and help guide local developers and property owners to build more safely. This will reduce damages to property and loss of life from drainage issues and storm water flooding. Area property owners have valuable experience and knowledge of the area that could significantly impact the study's success. The public is encouraged to share their knowledge of flooding in the area (e.g., experiences, issues, photos). The District will actively keep the public and stakeholders informed, providing updated information on the project website (fcd.maricopa.gov/ads/WickenburgADMS.htm) and through public meetings. If you unable to attend the public meeting, please contact Greg Jones, project manager, with your input.
