The objective of the Drainage Design Manual for Maricopa County, Hydraulics, is to provide criteria and design guidance for storm drainage facilities in Maricopa County. This manual provides a convenient source of technical information that is specifically tailored to the unique hydrologic, environmental and social character of Maricopa County; and a consistent set of criteria that, when used by the local governing agencies and the land development community, will result in uniform drainage practices throughout the County.
The DRAFT Hydraulics Manual does not include any agency-specific policies and standards. It only contains technical guidance.
The EFFECTIVE Hydraulics Manual (January 28, 1996) is still in effect until further notice, unless the draft manual is specifically identified for use by an agency. For purposes of obtaining a drainage clearance, the Maricopa County Planning and Development Services (P&D) has adopted use of the 2009 draft Hydraulics Manual, as stated on the P&D web site at: http://www.maricopa.gov/planning/BuildingServices/DrainageReviewRequest.aspx
The effective version of the Manual is only available in a digital PDF (Portable Document File) format, which requires the free Adobe Reader to view.
