As a means to expedite the review, approval and permitting processes for unincorporated areas of Maricopa County, the Flood Control District provides guidance and detail in the implementation of the Flood Control District of Maricopa County Floodplain Regulations and the Maricopa County Drainage Regulations (Drainage Policy and Standard Manual). Additionally, the Flood Control District provides manuals detailing the criteria and design guidance for the estimation of flood discharges (Hydrology), storm drainage facilities (Hydraulics) and stormwater compliance during construction activity (Erosion Control).
These manuals are used in conjunction with the Drainage Design Management System for Windows software (DDMSW). CAD resources, including Flood Insurance Studies, are also available to assist in design submittals.
