The Flood Control District of Maricopa County welcomes you to our website.

Since 1959, the District has been responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive flood hazard control measures in Maricopa County. This website is a resource regarding our history, information on current flood control projects, the services we provide, and important flood safety guidelines which can protect the lives and property of county residents and visitors.

County Receives Award to Develop Restoration Plan for the Gila River
Board of Supervisors vote to accept the award for the District's Salt Cedar Management and Native Vegetation Restoration Plan and Pilot project which will analyze strategies to provide enhanced flood protection by managing the overgrown salt cedar in the Lower Gila River channel.

County Wins Federal Funding to Rehabilitate Dams
Maricopa County residents will benefit from $81.1 million in extended flood protection and related jobs thanks to an IGA that was approved by the District's Board of Directors.
