County Leadership

The Board of Supervisors appoints the County Manager, who is responsible for the general administration and overall operations of several County departments, based on Supervisor policies.

Judicial Branch

The Judicial Branch of Arizona is responsible for the operational oversight of both general and limited jurisdiction courts in Maricopa County. The Superior Court is a court of general jurisdiction over cases relating to criminal felonies, juveniles, families, probate/mental health, tax, and civil. The Judicial Branch, headed by a Presiding Judge, includes the Superior Court, and the departments of Adult and Juvenile Probation.
